01. Intensive Rehabilitation Program (IRP)
Patients in the IRP receive 3 hours of structured treatment daily or 3 times a week. The goal of this intensive program is to return the patient to the highest level of functioning possible after acute management from the inpatient facility. Typically a patient in the IRP will receive multi physiotherapies with sophisticated hands-on therapy based on neuro-development therapy and occupational therapy with a close monitoring from full-time medical doctors (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).
02. What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapist addresses the physical, cognitive, sensory-perceptual, psychosocial and other aspects of performance in a variety of environments to regain or develop the skills which are necessary for the highest level of function and independence.
03. What is Bobath Approach?
The Bobath concept is a problem-solving approach used in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with movement and postural control disturbances due to a lesion of the central nervous system. It is named after Berta Bobath, a physiotherapist, and her husband Karl, a psychiatrist/neuropsychiatrist, who proposed the approach for treating patients affected with Central Nervous System anomalies.
